Re: coughing..........sounds like excercised induced asthma to me......Im asthmatic and run. Do u find u cough at night especially during the winter before going to sleep by any chance? Regardless, still sounds like a little asthma could be the cause.

Good stretching after your run will help with cramps!! Hold stretches for 30 secs at least at a time. Google calf stretches!!! And ofcourse thight and leg.

Good luck, Im sure you will be fine, but it might be worth mentioned the excercised induced coughing if it continue to your gp......

Matt.

Personally after returning after a few years out my only advice is try and lower your expectations of self. Accept that you have had a bad spell.....accept that your slower and less fit and the rest will come back on its own in it's own time!!! Rush it and you'll be injured again!!

Lower the mileage perhaps??? And aim to enjoy the lower miles and build back up slowly. My guess is you returned back tot he same routine???? When in fact the routine needed to be lessened?

Anywya Take care Rob and try and relax, you'll be back to full 7 minute miles in no time!!!

Matt.
