Indeed it does.. many a time I have said "no more" after a race..and then you think "well let me just get to this point and then I can call it a day". We are destined to keep falling off that wagon.

As you said earlier completely flat isn't better. You don't train that way (Well South london isn't that flat) so why race it? A little up and down is good for the sole

Paris isn't hilly...undulating. I would recommend Paris. I didn't enjoy Edinburgh that much.

Unfrotunatley I really enjoyed London and now I compare all the races to that one..

I'm pondering doing Paris and Amsterdam next year ...

It's weird. Marathons before stairs and rapid moving have been a problem - but today I'm not too bad. Stairs aren't a problem either. I guess testament that my legs didn't work as hard as before.. oh well. It was a slight pb but I will just have to smash it with a new pb.

I am thinking I will go with amsterdam. I have Eaing half on the 7th - that will be a good warm up for the marathon on the 22nd.  Better that way than doing a marathon and then a half a week later!

Smiley - I am looking at others for the autumn too. I am thinking either Loch Ness or Amsterdam.

Yes lxwood, also glad to hear I wasn't the only one!

Samantha, I will always welcome public support. In face where there is a lot of support has a great impact on my races and how much I enjoy the event. Keep it up!
