| Recently got back from a few days in Marrakech, will definitely put this one on the list for a future trip - no chance of even an early morning jog in August though, temperatures in excess of 120 degrees mid afternoon, and well over 80 all night. |

Ran the Tim Wealthall mile in Nottingham last month, my first timed mile since school (a long, long time ago) 8 graded races, target times coming down by 30 secs each time, with the last race the Sub 4 challenge - winning time of 4.03, so some serious guys taking part. I had a pb (aged 12) of 6.06, so was quite pleased with 5.15 (aged nearly 4 times 12) So, Richard Cannock, don't give up just yet.... Does seem to be the only one around these parts though. |

Last did this 10 years ago, so might do it as an "anniversary" kind of thing. The distance markers along the rowing lake can be a good way of checking your pace. |

I use that stretching technique, and it does work - although the occasional popping sounds from the achilles can be a bit disconcerting! Should perhaps add that you should not raise your weight back up with your affected leg, but use the other one. Am about to try a couple of miles following 8 weeks of not running due to tendonitis. Expect to collapse in a gasping heap shortly. |
