Has anyone else experienced numbness, tingling, pins and needles, burning etc in a foot at rest (always fine when I run but running and tight calves are almost certainly a contributory factor)? And more importantly, has anyone got a solution for such a condition?
Thanks for the help and information on nerves. I'm particularly interested to hear the operation wasn't a big deal - though I'm still hoping not to have to go that route. But if it could fix it all quickly and get me back running full time....
I've just been diagnosed with either tarsal tunnel syndrome or traction of the posterior tibial nerve. I've had an MRI which shows the nerve in my back is slightly compressed but nothing serious showed up in that so that may or may not be the source.
I rested for a month, with no changes to symptoms (sore arch of my foot - stinging, burning, tingling for 2 days out of every 4 - then when I think its gone, it comes back, always in the afternoon). I've been running three times a week for the last 3 weeks and its no better or worse
I'd love to hear from anyone else who had a similar injury - basically to know how long it took to go away? And what they did to speed up recovery. Also can anyone advise if it is possible to do more damage by running on it or if I could get back to proper training (I'd run through pain, just as long as I know I amn't doing any more damage - normally run up to 50 miles a week)
