Hi all, I was thinking of enetring either half or full. Ive been running for a number of years and am an ok runner with a PB of 3hrs 33min 2 yrs ago for a marathon. Last yr completed lots of 10ks and did my first. Ultra 31 miles in4 hrs 35min.
Im training well now and completed 17miles today.
However here is the dilema:
Im away on holiday from april 8th until 23rd and although Will b able to do shorter runs wont b able to do a long run until 27th.
Great run for me today. After completing the trail marathon last Sunday and running a fast golden mile on Tue, took Wednesday steady and today a lovely 11miles at a steady 9.15 pace. Feeling so good at the moment, it's great when running feels this good.
everyone seems to be running well and following great plans. Important four weeks coming up now, speed work, disfinance, and some mid week midi distance runs at MP or faster. Did this for Abingdon 2yrs ago and it worked well for me.
Great track session for me tonight after my marathon effort at the weekend. We did a few warm up laps then into groups to do "the golden mile" really tough run but great testy. Managed to do 6:37 which I was pleased with. How some off you guys do it for 26miles is beyond me!!!
a questionfor you ref pace. I want to break 3hrs 30min (prev best 3hr 33) would you say I should go out with the 3:30 pacers or the 3:15 pace group. I'm normally a slower runner for the first half of a race as Imalways concerned about going off too fast. Should I trust my training/ability and go that bit faster, play sensible with 3:30 or even more conservative start with 3:45 group and step it up after 6/8 miles?
Hi everyone, some really long runs this weekend. I completed 26.2 at the fairlands trail marathon. Really great event very challenging with plenty of hills but great to do a nice paced off rd marathon for a change. training going very well as we head in to the heart of summer. Got a more easy week planned this week but that might change as we move into it.
