Hi, I haven't been on here for a long time. Did 4:05 pb at Houston marathon last January, trying to get under 4 hrs next January, when I will have had my 60'th bday. Chicago qualifying time is 3:55 and that is probably a step too far.
Sorry to hear about all the injuries the last few weeks.
Been away in Houston for 3 weeks(work) and West Algarve the last two weeks (holiday).Kept reasonable training going.
Houston was in high 90's during the day, but at 8 pm it is possible to do some running, luckily there is a heavily used trail which is lit up.
Then the algarve, we were staying next to a national park (west of luz) and there are some good runs, but rather hillly. The first week, I did 4 runs of 10 miles or so, and then paid for it the following week, but now recovered. Not sure what my track session later this week will be like, I haven;t gone above 10 mm pace for a few weeks with all the hills and heat.
Luckily, all the extra drinking (my kids are getting older and I need to keep an eye on them while they go bar crawling) didn;t seem to put on any weight - but possibly my aching bottom was not helped by the late nights - or maybe it was caused by close proximity to family for two weeks?
