All this talk about eating healthy....am I being really naughty then when I say I don't eat anything before a long run?!! Wake up, coffee, run 20 miles with lucozade sport, jellybabies and a couple of SiS gels. Well, that got me through 2011 VLM anyway. Night before is usually fill my face with pizza. Could this be where I'm going wrong? hehe

The route is lovely after the first mile. Once off the main roads it's all country lanes, gradually climbing up to 11 miles (fantastic view). The only real noticeable climb for me was just after the water station at around 9-10 miles. It's a fast last 2 miles, all being downhill. The only downside is weather permitting. If it's bad you may not get all your training in, and the route can be icy in places - same as all winter training though!

Anyway, friendly people, friendly club, lovely marshalls, well organised. Are you tempted yet 7daughters?

Logistically, I've not been able to volunteer to support as it's a 200 mile trip for me each way, plus accommodation costs  But I can vouch that the Mudchute clan are a real help to the runners at a point where they need it most. The huge cheers and jellybabies were a godsend for me in 2009. If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to ask for support again as I'll be running in 2013. Hopefully, in 2014 I can return the favour!

340 entries in less than 24 hours. I know it fills fast, but at this rate it will be full in a week!
