Had this on and off for years. The exercise described above certainly sounds similar to the one my osteopath gives me when I'm having a bad bout.
The three most useful things I've found are: changing from a manual to an automatic car (twas my left leg, obviously!); getting a 'wedge' cushion to use on flat chairs; using a 'kneeling chair' at my desk, where I spend too much time.
I'm interested in FitFlops, not so much for the 'bottom-toning' effect that most people go on about, but because they are the only shoe I can wear without my wretched orthotics. However, so far I've only tried the flipflop style; now they're bringing out some serious winter boots. However, they also carry a serious price.
