Morning all. I've decided to do some cycling while I am crocked for running. Went to a few cycle shops yesterday and bought myself a Giant defy. Just an entry level road bike, but looking forward to getting it home later this week and giving it a spin.
Used my old rusted mountain bike to cycle 12 miles yesterday and am going to go on a more relaxed, longer jaunt on it today. Quite exciting trying something new and I can already see myself getting into cycling - have even bought fancy shorts and a helmet so I must be serious! lol
Strava has turned into a real battle for me as thousands of people have done local segments on bikes, compared to just tens of people for running segments - moving up the leaderboards should provide some additional motivation.
Dibs, nothing diagnosed as yet. No sign of a hernia really. I've been tight for a while but played football (stupidly) about a month ago and slipped several times, leading to more pain. I'll maybe go and see a doc.
Well, times up for me. I like the lyrics today cause they sum up my running of late - and today the thread snapped. I give up. Left the house for a longish run, was walking home less than 1.5 miles later. I sneezed and my whole groin area cried out in pain. Sneezed a couple of times since I got home - trying hard not to sneeze any more, believe me!!! Anyway, taking an extended break to get better. Might try some cycling. Withdrawing from all races in the coming months.
