Congrats to grandnohair for the double whammy of a grandchild and finishing this year's Bewl 15. Well done to everybody.

Also to -...-- for the trophy. I passionately believe every 5 year race category should have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd trophy. This rewards those nearer the back who have still put in an enormous effort to finish. Being a V6 myself I get annoyed when some organisers are mean and have just 1 trophy for every 10 year bands.

I have analysed over 200 comments from the runners. Only 2 sugestions for chamge so far:

) We cannot eliminate the 3 styles between miles 8 and 9 as otherwise we would lose the beutiful views of Bewl Water and lose the full 15 mile distance. 2) The route cannot be reversed either as the drinks logistics would be impossible due to a lack of access. Course records would be nullified too.

Not sure why the RW Ratings link did not work as I have tested and found OK.

Next year's race is 1st july 2012, so I hope to see Forumites there. Thanks for your support.

I would like to thank all of the Forumites for your lovely, lovely comments about this year's Bewl 15. We are knocked out by the fabulous reviews, so far. I am already taking notes from runners with any new ideas as I am determined to produce the best race we can, so keep the comments and suggestions coming. I tyhink it is paramount to listen to the entrants.

If you would like to give us your vote on the Runner's World Ratings then please use this link, if you have not done so already:

Bewl 15 Race Director here. All race numbers and race information were sent by post last week and for all those who entered upto yesterday. Email me at : albertlkemp@btinternet.com  if you have not received your number or want a reserved place on the day. We currently have 637 entries and expect another 150 up to and including the day so we are 7% up on last year. The race chip must be collected on the day.

A free min-bus pick -up at Wadhurst Train Station will meet every train until 10:04. Water, sports drink, sponge, jelly babies and hose pipe will be on the corse. details in the race pack.

1,124 free cakes being made by Lisa the cake lady and her Waddie team members, brass band, goody bag, children's entertainer, children's sports and toddlers safe area all booked and provided free by the Waddies. Charlie the Clown will entertain the children in the Greyhound Pub who will have a BBQ. A tea/coffee and bacon sarnie van is available outside the HQ from 8am.

A British Tai Chi Championship Judge will teach the children and young at heart "Chi for Children" in the Uplands SDports Hall where free massage is also offerred to the runners.

Weather expected to pick up after the current rain  but I will run parts of Bewl tonight,  Wednesday and Friday and all round on Saturday so I will report on the course conditions by Friday evening. I ran Bewl during the cloud burst last week and I found training shoes still acceptable. The formerley slippery slope at 13 miles is now concreted.

Guys - what a wonderful race. We are so proud of the apparent success. can it get any better? You bet I will be trying.

Already following up suggestions and have booked hot and cold refreshments for 2011 and other minor tweaks e.g. more sponges at water station no. 2 (the small dam).

Thanks for your support and fantastic reviews -, so far-  keep those Runners World votes flowing. See you next year on Sunday 3rd July 2011.
