Iv had more abuse from walking than running. Iv been called 'fat arse' out of a car window by a bunch of boy racers on two seperate occasions..im sure it was the same lot!!!. Ok i was wearing very unflattering cream linen trousers which may have made my bum look big but im only a size 12 so im not exactly obese but there you go. Also some 'slag' ...honestly theres no kinder word for her, walked past me in a pub (or rather i was made to move out of the way of her) as in her words i needed to 'lose weight' thats why she couldnt get past. Again im a size 12 so not massive. How dare she. I was in so much shock that she could have the nerve to say that to someone. When i recovered i had to be stopped from finding her a punching her lights out. How did she know i wasnt some karate champion!!??

Any way back to the point... people are usually impressed and give me encouragement that your doing something they could never do (their words not mine). This definately outweighs any snotty smirks from better runners (which i must say iv never had) I feel like they are looking down at me but im just paranoid.

My boyfriend has a beer belly but could still out run me because he's a natural runner. He did a half marathon after an alldayer at the pub and a feast of pizza AND chinese the night before. He probabaly doesnt look like a runner and people may think he's about to drop dead. Some lads were joking with us as we ran past (well taking the piss really) and he picked up the one lad and carried him while he was running! They soon stopped laughing!!!!

Iv got a fairly short lunch break but would like to do a bit of running during my lunch time at work. I work next to a park so thought it would be nice to make the most of it (although its a fairly scabby park filled with dog poo )

I thought considering my time constraints i could do a bit of speed work for 15-20 mins as i tend to plod along on most of my runs and do very little speed training. Im looking for some ideas on how best to use this time. Warm up 5mins - sprint 10 mins - then cool down? Is it really as simple as that?

I'd appreciate any suggestions

my recent playlist include - mr tumbles "Hello hello how are you?..hello hello...and so on and so on and omg "

And a more tolerable one yet still makes me question my sanity is the off my favourite simpsons episode. The planet of the apes musical one

 "  I hate every ape I see
  From chimpan-a to chimpan-zee
No you'll never make a monkey out of me

Oh my God, I was wrong
  It was Earth all along
  You've finally made a monkey
Yes we've finally made a monkey, Yes you've finally made a monkey out of me"

Yes i have watched these programmes far too many times!!
