Oh no...gutted for you both Emma and Richard! I know from experience hmen depressing and all consuming injuries can be. Fingers crossed for you and take it easy...it's not worth pushing too soon if you still hope to make the start...lot to be said for rest.
hats off to you vegan runners...I'm a 25yr vegetarian and every time I dabble with veganism I succumb to the cheese....
11 miles yesterday + 14.5miles today (with 1521ft elevation!) These b2b's are hard work...
Oh and today's 12mile run home was a killer...then I realised I'd unintentionally run 7 days in a row and clocked 59miles. Oh we'll, nature of the beast I suppose. Another 13 tomorrow for the b2b then a rest day on Sun.
Ok I'm happy that everyone is buying new shoes! I've ordered an IDENTICAL pair of Mizuno Wave Nirvana 7 which have stood me well...only difference is I've opted for half a smore bigger to my sensitive toenails a little more room. Panic over.
Sleepy Bear-must admit I did look at fathoming something but like you I'm not confident enough that I'd ruin my pricey rucksack. I'm nowhere near skinny either...as you say average sized woman...seen plenty stringier men on the trails!
My disaster..? My trusted shoes have developed a small hole in the upper. Aaaaargh! Have a got time to source new ones and break them in? Do I just order identical ones online and hope they'll be ok? Or do I just cross my fingers, hope and pray they'll last? Trails are taking their toll and done nearly 1000miles...knew the big farewell was coming but was going to be my post-wall treat.
