Absolutely battered by Snowdonia Marathon finished in 4.38, over 25 minutes slower than last year.
At around 24 miles, on top of the last climb, I seriously cramped up and started to get very cold and shivering. Only option was to 'foose my legs' and push on.
Crossed the line in a lot of pain, got my slate finisher's coaster and immediately thought of signing up for next year.
One of the reasons I love this race so much is because it's brutal, because it's not easy, because the views are stunning, because the whole village come out, because the owner of Y Pantri, where we went to eat last night remembered me from 2 years ago and what my favourite food and coffee was.
Snowdonia Marathon isn't just a race, it's a village being shown at its very best. No matter how hard I'll find it, I'll always return the following year.
Probably something to do with why it sold out in 12 hours this year.
