OoOoo look forward to meeting you too  I've done a fair few back to back 50ish milers this year, week to week and so in the end, I must admit, my carbo-loading has gone a bit 'rubbish' - because I didn't want to feel constantly bloated. The week before Ridgeway 85, I did make an effort to eat more carbs, but most importantly, I find it's the eating during the event itself which is crucial - gotta' keep getting those calories in (even though sometimes ye' really don't feel like it)!

Various times this year, if ever I've felt sickly or come across someone else who does, it's often because I/they haven't taken on enough food. I find the whole 'fuelling' thing really interesting because I'm doing an Msc in 'Exercise & Nutrition Science'

Hello... Finally had the initiative to track down this thread ! I'll be doing the 100, longest I will have done - did Ridgeway 85 in Aug which is my longest to date. Looking forward to it... Just not looking forward to the long drive from the North West doh! I'm hoping to make up for a few ultra disapointments I've had of late, so that will be my inspiration & motivation
