Ballymena runners got a special recognition award from the council to acknowledge our 20 years anniversary. It was a great night at the sports awards with jackie Fullerton compering, so the cheesy jokes were big supply but good craic

@alwyn the route has been posted on Facebook page of Ballymena runners and race over the glens. Will get it up on website soon. The route is hard but any route around glenariff will be tough.

Hi all

havent posted for a long time not had great running recently had an awful run at seeley but now slowly getting back into the swing of things. Recovering from ballymena runners 20 year dinner, great night had by all.

A wee plug for Race Over The Glens on new years day. We have had to change the route this year due to ongoing tree harvesting because of tree disease. We had a challenging 6 mile route all on forest paths/trails. I cant manage to post picture of map of route here but it up on ballymena runners and race over the glens facebook page.

We are going for a training run at about 8.30am sunday 2nd dec if any one wants a pre race recce of the course

paul that was some achievment completing your first ultra, considering the lack of long mile runs you said  you had done. the conditions were tough going , very muddy so really slowed me way down.I couldnt make up any time on the downhill parts as I felt them too slippy especially when the legs were tired.

organisation great and the sense of achievement at end is thr real goal

Well done to all that ran the Ballymena 5.Like most events we will learn for next year but I think the town centre start/finish/ registration was spot on. The marshalling at the roundabouts was tough.Thankfully where I was at ecos roundabout the drivers were patient.thanks for all the positive feedback.
Am now gearing myself for mourne way ultra, weather looks interesting for it.I see they have a beer tent at the finish area, could be good craic
