I had cut and pasted an image of the relevant bit of G Earth there, but it doesn't show. Sorry - if what I've written isn't clear enough, tell me where you get stuck.
On Google Earth, use Tools=Ruler=Path. Plot your route and save it.
It appears as a "Place" on the left as a temporary path.
Right-click your route in that list.
Select Show Elevation Profile.
relax your feet.
The day I run a trail route with no wrong turnings might be the day I recommend my route to someone else. I can fail to recognise somewhere within four miles of home and get lost. Doesn't stop me from setting out, though.
