I'll add you to the list of cartoon characters that have beaten me in races!  You're in the esteemed company of Scooby Do, Bob the Builder and Orinoco Womble!  Next time - it's personal!

Hi there,

my only advice would be to listen to your ankle when you run and don't push it too far too soon.  The last thing you want to do is set yourself back but if you start gently and build up the intensity gradually it will be fine.  I did mine a couple of months ago, rabbit hole - other top tip, look where you are running!  It took about a month of rest and swimming for me to get to the point where I could run on it but it gets stiff and weak after about 3 miles.

Mathschick, do you have a link for those ankle strengthening exercises you googled?  I've been doing the drunken flamingo thing but am looking for some other exercises to help it loosen up and help get the strength back in it.

I had a feeling that might be the answer!  I was hoping for a miracle answer involving guiness, spinach and steak but I guess that was just wish full thinking!  Thanks for your help.

I gave blood today and have found in the past it has affected my running for a couple of weeks.

Does anyone has any tips for how I can eat, drink and train to help my body to regenerate those red blood cells?
