hi Lisa,

sorry no personal experience of this drug, but i can see why you're wary.

What (other than suggesting drugs for adhd) are they doing to support your son's learning behaviour? It seems to me that realistic expectations and behaviour management advice for the adults , and strategies for him, from a specialist teacher in aspergers or a psychologist would be good practice. These are important whether or not drugs are prescribed and good practice.

Why have you only got a week to decide? If they are threatening to exclude him the LA should be involved as he is at risk of exclusion and should have a protocol to support him keep/find a suitable placement. Do you have support from your parent partnership service 9LA will have contact details) or local autism group to ask for all the information you need on the drug, all the time you need to make a decision and for other behavioural support for your child in school.

... yes, it does depend on her taste and shape really, (might be safer going for a top/ jacket tbh) but seeing as you ask and seeing as i spent too long this afternoon virtual shopping for the very same, pro direct have got a good range in

also sweaty betty flatter most women - but not the cheapest and a bit fussy styling if you don't really like that sort of thing

Hi by 'eck,

I suggest asking if there is a pre school child development service (CDS) locally -  a joint service run by paeds, speech therapy and early years teachers ( and psychologists if you need one) for younger children with higher levels of additional needs. Communication and behaviour are high on their list.  Your paediatrcian or HI teacher (if you you have one? not sure ), or even Health Visitor should know, or try googling your council's family services directory (  not all FSDs are up and running yet).

The CDS would be in a good position to support you in all these areas that you highlight and help you paln for entry into nursery/ school.

good luck

I just read the report of this in the paper... what an unhelpful comment on just about every level. Not just for Ennis but for the rest of us, and all those young girls who will hopefully see her excelling this summer and get a bit more active and a bit more enthusiasitc about sport as a result.

hi Jane, I agree that a bigger race might suit you best if you want to see signs of human life on your run. I'd recommend any of the runliverpool events - have done their half marathon a few times and the size of race, route and support all suit a slower runner. that's not til next spring tho' but i think they do have a 10k in autumn ? The english half marathon is Sept/Oct time and that's in Warrington - another big race with a 3 hour cut off which is about standard. good luck
