It's Friday and I still haven't entered the ballot so I will stay married....
Been out for a couple of runs though of a maximum of 4 miles which I really enjoyed although I found it hard getting out there. I was using Hal Higdon's app which was great because I could just open it and go but I'm struggling finding a 10k get faster plan on an app with post marathon recovery time so I've found Hal's recovery plan and I'm using that at the moment...
Love hearing all your stories; well done everyone for getting up there and getting running again.
So a very strange week! The highs of Sunday and Monday followed by a real low on Thursday and Friday and apparently post marathon blues is a real thing!
About to go out for my first fun since last Sunday - hope I can still remember how to! I've booked a 10k at the end of May and given my speed (!) I think I'm now going to focus on getting a bit faster at distances like the 10k and the half which I really started to enjoy.
I loved my marathon and it was amazingly moving. I didn't tell you about the fact I couldn't breathe after it but managed to down some very cold beer later... I'm still hanging around this thread though even though I'm not doing one again.
Blithe, I was just thinking - once you've made your ballot entry on Monday (which you almost certainly will ), you should officially declare this thread closed so we can all move over to the VLM 2017 thread - we could have an official closing ceremony, like at the Olympics
*Rises up from throne*
Having shared our experiences, joys, sorrows and maranoia I now officially declare this thread closed. I myself have derived an enormous amount of mutual support and happiness from everyone here and would like to thank each and every one of you for your manifest kindnesses and attentions.
But as every hello also has a goodbye so it is that the time for this thread is over.
I now declare this thread shut and would ask those contemplating the madness of the VLM 2017 to cross over to that thread.
