Thanks James Linney - yes, if you're local I would recommend. The volunteers were all very cheery - certainly caputured some of the 2012 spirit. And there were also loads of loos with no more than a 2 min. wait, what more do you need! Indeed, here's hoping to sub-4 in Manc!
Sounds like everything going well on the whole for all.
James C - echo what AndyB says it's only one slightly negative run in what has been an outstanding marathon campaign - and even then it's not like you collapsed after 12 miles and couldn't continue. Also, best to have a negative experience now, rather than in the marathon.
James Linney - I'm doing Manc too. Crikey, it's three weeks on Sunday (as well as those doing Paris)!
Orapidrun - it is a learning curve isn't it.
I'm doing the Surrey Spitfire20 this weekend
Well done Sophie on your 21 miler.
I did Surrey Half yesterday and got myself a pb - 1:45:10 (had to bloomin' re-tie shoelace otherwise would have been sub-1:45, ah well)! As you all experienced it was a warmer day than we were used, and there were a few more inclines on the return than I would have liked. A well organised run though.
Orapidrun - I will share my marathon pace guide for the 10/10/6 but have confused myself with numbers since stalking with Sam! I think it was around 8:50/8:40/8:30 - my calculations lead that to slightly quicker time of 3hr40? Bit too fast Sam... I am hoping Paris is considerably flatter than my previous LSR, which would boost the confidence. Negative splits def seems to be my best form of attack!
Ooh, I love this strategy for splitting up the race - def gives something to focus on/distract during those miles.
