Wow this thread moves fast.  Thank you for adding me to the list.

There is some good advice on here and I need to try and change my pace as I seem to run the same pace for every training session - slow and steady but now I am going to vary it more.

Just been reading this thread as I have not been on since I signed up.  If the friendliness of this forum is anything to go on, it will be a fantastic race and I am really looking forward to it.  Hoiping to break that 2 hour barrier.

Personally I don't mind about goodie bags as long as there is a drink of water at the end, and a friendly atmosphere.

Just spent all morning reading this thread and it is full of good advice and nice and friendly so would like to join in.  I have managed to get in the VLM via the running club ballot so very excited.

My last marathons have been 4:32, 4:34 and 4:36 following Runners World sub 4:30 plan (so going backwards).  I would really love to run 4:15 but not been able to find a schedule for this time.  Reading the last few comments I now believe this can be achievable as long as I get my act in gear and will be running the Central Lancs half on 02/01/12 to get me motivated.

Good luck to those running Manchester, I will be on one of the water stations.
