I got a new running jacket for Christmas from my parents, my dad being a reluctant ex-runner after a hip operation. My motivation is now my new, posh jacket - Ronhill: recommended! - and debriefs with my dad afterwards. I think even he is motivated to attempt a steady trot around the block!

A great article - thank you.

Off for a run before the football - am anticipating it will be quite quiet as everyone I know is in with a beer!

Hello to all and hope everyone is feeling okay today...

And Happy Birthday Plod - enjoy the champers!

Well done everybody! What a positive, enthusiastic and downright optimistic bunch! *big smile!* I missed a run tonight as my stomach muscles hurt from when I went out on Sunday (if anyone can explain that, bring it on!) and I decided to clean and garden tonight (rock and roll!). Am now regretting it a little bit...

My all time favourite for most occasions is Queen "Don't stop me know". I also love Status Quo "Rockin' all over the world" ( I know, I know...) and am a consistent fan of Kaiser Chiefs and Fratellis when I run. Well, all the time but I get a little lift in my step when one of their songs comes on.

Did anyone see the programme on the Marathon des Sables tonight? I know someone mentioned it as their inspirational dream as they run - what a test of stamina, will, endurance and sanity! It's MAD and those people who run it are amazing (mad and amazing). I found it thoroughly fascinating although the bit where they were popping blisters on their feet with safety pins was a bit too much for me - I can't look at the gory bits in Casualty! Fascinating stuff though...

The joy of being able to say I'm going to leave someone behind - in the nicest possible sense of course!! No, Exhibition Park in Newcastle but I shall cheer you on from where I am!

Think I need to experiment with clothes and start to ditch my layers - just not necessary... The search continues...
