I worked night shifts for 10 years and managed to run, but I didnt enjoy it. Could never run after I finished a shift. Had to have a few hours sleep then was ready to go.

I am now completing my first year not having to do nights. Still do earlies and lates but feel so much better not doing nights and manage more runs because I am not so tired.

Made the mistake of going to the gym after a night shift and nearly fell asleep on the bloody treadmill. I stuck to the sit down weights after that...a lot safer!

Try not to work Christmas day but any other BH...I'll take them all!! Until they take my double bubble away that is!

Wow that sounds interesting!

Yesterday i did my first bit of off road running through Woburn. I took the dogs out with me and have to say it was quite good fun running through the forests rather than plodding along the tarmac dodging cars. Its much better dodging horses and mountain bikes instead.

Am on late turn today so going to fit in a short run this morning before work.Have to make the most of the "keen bean" spell while its lasting.

No races yet, but def want to do a half this year. I just dont seem to have the courage to actually sign up for one.

Once I am back to running about 10 miles I will def sign up for one close by. What races are you doing?

Hey Mr F.

How spooky I was just looking through all my old bookmarks and saw our Bacon Sarnie thread from about 2 years ago, and I thought " I wonder what they are all up to now"

Nice to see a familiar name. I am very well thanks. Shift of job so no crappy nights for me anymore!!

I dont carry a water bottle. I do on my long runs but have not built back up to that distance yet, so its not that. I think I need to relax more, just not sure how to do that!!
