Poacher - yes have done Marple a couple of times. Last time was a few weeks ago, but I was poorly so just did it steady. It was pretty muddy and wet in places then. I've also done Glossop, which is nice. A lovely park!
KR - nice speed work and miles! No I'm not racing Bramley, I'm going to do it as a progressive run depending on how my legs feel. Hope to just do the last couple of miles at marathon effort.
Freemers - as above re Bramley. This week I'm on half term so am able to do doubles every day. I've been doing 3-4 a week for a few weeks now and am hoping to keep them up most days when back to work for the next 6 weeks before taper. I do however find it difficult when at work as it means getting up at 5.15, which often isn't inviting when it's dark, wet and windy! Sounds like you're getting some good paced runs in!
Leslie - yes I'm hoping the next 6 weeks will be up around the 70 mark. I've had a few up around there, then illness so a couple of lower weeks. This week I hope to get up to 80 if all goes to plan. It's so much easier when not at work!
Today I ended up doing 2 x 5 miles easy rather than the group run. I started with them, but even at their easy pace it was going to be too fast for me after my first session in ages yesterday. Really enjoyed both my runs though in lovely sunshine and wonderful countryside. Easy runs now for the rest of the week until Bramley.
Wabo - sorry about the car. Hope the store can give some help!
alehouse - I get it now.
2 x 5 miles for me today. I set out with the group of 4 guys this morning, but my legs were tired from yesterday's session so even their running easy was going to be too much for me especially on the hilly route chosen. So BR and I did a nice loop more at my easy pace, which was better for my recovery. We also then did an afternoon run, which was a lovely one in the countryside in nice sunshine taking in lots of historical buildings with BR as my guide.
Ref retirement - I too would most probably do a couple of days of something, but I think I'm going to be getting on a bit before I get to retire. Will just have to make the most of the school holidays...
0053 - sounds like you have a good plan. Good luck with relay, where is that?
Gul Darr - you were out early this morning - well done! When I'm at work I have to do any morning runs early. I'm looking forward to light mornings to make them more enjoyable.
I had a good training day yesterday with the session and then a very easy recovery run so 10/6. Today off out for around 12 miles with a group or guys. I'm the slowest in the group so hoping it won't be too hard work, especially as the route planned is a bit bumpy. Looking forward to it though.
