I agree with some of the negative comments here. I was tripped and pushed through the first couple of miles because the road was too narrow and there were too many people running with ipods or in lines across the road.
The start was chaotic with 10k'ers being asked to make their way through the crowd of other runners and starting off so soon before the mass event meant many were getting in the way of faster halfers.
I didnt need the baggage area, but am glad I didnt as this seemed to mingle with what some people thought was a toilet queue. Many of the outlets in Xscape closed due to the use of their toilets alone.
If it wasnt on my doorstep, I doubt I would do this again, but the lure of a race going on close by is too good to miss.
No complaints whatsoever from me. The car park was well marshalled when I arrived at 9:15. Left my bag in my car as advised in the race info and used the facilities I needed without a problem.
My only gripe would be from the runners who insist on wearing headphones with music blaring out of them in a busy race. They are a danger to themselves and other runners.
As for the people that pinned their race number to their back.........well, no doubt they will be complaining they didnt get a photo.
Appears I may have got the route the wrong way round and that it goes from the start at the farm, down to Blisworth and along the High St, before making its way back up towards Gayton. We still have a hill to get up, but at least it is earlier on in the race.
I'm looking forward to this one too. Have run most of these (holidays permitting) since 2002, and welcome the new course. I still don't get why we can't have a course that finishes at the football club where the car parking is and the final venue for the majority of runners? A loop around the football pitch would be the same distance as going back up the hill to the farm and away from where most people want to be.
