Where do you organise BOTF? Hanley only gets 50 at the mo but I think the infrasturcture is there and it is about to take off with the clubs, who bar a couple have been anonymous. |

I am sure many at Hanley Parkrun (Stoke) would welcome another parkrun locally for a change of scenery. The man who organises the North parkruns was at Hanley last week. He also visited a possible site in Leek and Congleton whilst here. |

Woo hoo, I think I am nearly ready to run again. I got my xray and blood results back with no problem. The doc is to arrange physio for me but my pain has almost gone. I went out and did a mile on Sunday after watching the GNR and apart from looking an idiot running (limping) I have felt great since. I am knocking it up to 3 tonight and 5 on Thursday both at slow pace without my GPS. Cant wait to get back down the club. Thanks for your help and good luck sorting your own injuries out. P.s ill probably be back on here in a couple of weeks with it flaring up again. |

I have had a mild hip pain for about a month. Did a run a couple of weeks ago and it started hurting, so went to see the doctors who sent me for an xray and blood test. I have been told I will have to wait 3 weeks for the results of my xray. The pain reduced significantly so I decided to do the half marathon that I had been training hard for. It wasn't too painful during the run but last night I couldn't even get into bed. Like people say I am having trouble walking and standing on one leg, but the most pain seems to come when I have to move my leg out, e.g getting into bed or getting out of the car. Does this sound familiar? |

Osteoarthritis can be when your body isn't producing enough fluid in between the joints that allows the joint to move freely. The bones then start to rub, causing the pain. Having fluid replacement injections are one answer. I know a lot of professional athletes and footballers use this. Try looking up a product called Ostenil, it is meant to encourage your body to recreate the fluid. I think it is hit and miss through the NHS but I believe physios and private hospitals use it. |
