I looked after a Weimaraner for 10 days earlier this year, great fun. I was doing 6 and bit miles each morning and he would liked more but I couldn't keep up with him! It is unlikely you could tire this breed out, you will drop first! He would go off and run by himself at times but would never lose sight of where I was so not much fear of losing him. Followed me around wherever I went while he was here so was great company but they do require lots of attention.

Thanks OB & Alex.

OB, at least when tennis gets hailed off it can be re-arranged when running you just have to stick to it! It reminds me of one of the Yateley 10K's a year and a bit ago when we were running through streams on the road! It was dry 5 minutes before the start as well.

Alex, sounds like bad contacts on the HRM. Recently mine has been ging me problems and today I recorded an all time high 229, when my average was just over 140. I find moving the strap if I check the HRM after it starts to bleep normally cures it. If it stays high for any length of time then it will sure increase your average by quite a lot. Increase it by 50 BPM for 10% of the time and your average will shoot up by 5%, so in your case your average may have been nearer 160. BTW keep up with the training and if you think 4 hours is on the cards you will find enough in the last few miles to get you home, I did in NY.

Hi Guys,
Long time since I was last here but have been lurking recently.
Trust you are all well and I see several of you are up for London. I will also be running London, first real race since NY so I am hoping for a good one after nearly 6 months off last year. Good run this morning 18.25 in 2:38, bit faster than I wanted but it felt good.
I see a few of you got caught in the hail on Sunday, I was on the tennis courts at the time (not to many miles away) and we were lucky as we could run for shelter!

Miss Whiplash, if you are to look the part it will be hard work for you to pace these guys at Salisbury dressed in thigh length leather boots, tight fittig leather hot pants etc... If you think you can turn up in the above then I will have to seriously consider coming to Salisbury ;-)
