On friday 31st Jan I slipped slightly on some ice. Had a bit of pain in the back of my right knee for the weekend, so no training. Back at it on monday (spinning), did a rowing class on tuesday morning but knee hurt a bit so didn;t go to running club in the evening. Did a little running on the treadmill on weds- felt OK. Thursday did a circuit/boxing class with running about in- felt OK. Friday did a circuit class- felt OK, saturday did uphill walking (gentley) and felt OK. Sunday, did Wokingham Half. OK for 12 miles then knee just died on me. Limped home unhappy and sore (2.01, 5 minutes slower than previous 1/2M). Now my knee hurts, nbot just at the back but all the way round. Have iced it, got the ibuleve gel out and planning a few days off hard exercise.
What else should I do? Can I still swim? What might I have done? There is no obvious swelling or particularly tender spots. Any help greatly appreciated- I currently walk like I have an artificial leg...
Thanks

I have had a putative diagnosis of a spot of tendonitis in my right foot (pain on top of foot and lower shin upon flexing/extending foot). It seems to come and go, and at the moment all I am doing is rubbbing Ibuleve on it.
Can I do any more than this? I have calmed down my training a bit, but should I rest completely? Ice? Heat? Amputation?
Any advice appreciated.

I have already asked for a new Polar HRM!
What I really want is a dog, having just spent 6 weeks at home being homeless and jobless my only joy was taking my mother's dogs out for 3 hour walkies. And being able to run for miles along canals.
And now I live in London, so for Christmas I'd like new carpets, new curtains and a sofa for our new flat.

Decided to lug my miniscule legs down to TVH tomorrow, having just moved to the big Smoke last monday.
I'd like to know if anyone else here is in the TVH, and has any inside info?

Cheers,
(nervously!)

After an initial toe-sucking, he asked if he could run his nose up my leg (!?). I said no. Then he asked if he could suck my toes again. I said no. He said "well you let me do it before".
I replied "That was to see if I liked it- I didn't, so f*** off!"

And yes, he was a complete stranger. Don't ever go into Park End in Oxford!
