Hi I'm working with the charity Hope for Children, official charity of the Edinburgh Mara for several years, we would appreciate someone 'on the ground' in/near Edinburgh to help us promoting our charity places in the Scottish Kilomathan in October and (if you like it but there's no obligation) in next years Edinburgh Mara. It's really just about promoting the event - putting up flyers, eg in local leisure centres, and sharing your local knowledge of people/places to approach. I think it's genuinely only an odd hour's effort now & then but it would be really appreciated and make a difference to the team raising funds to support HOPE's work http://www.hope-for-children.org/index.php . If you know anyone who may be interested please let me know. Thanks Nick |

Hope you don't mind me wandering in but I'm looking for an Edinburgh based person who's interested in running so I figured this was a good place to start. I work with a charity called Hope for Children - we were the official charity of the Edinburgh Mara for a few years. As a key feature of the charity is that we use the money raised to support the projects rather than on admin there are only 6 staff (5 PT) with the rest (inc me) volunteers. http://www.hope-for-children.org/ if you're interested. Do you know anyone who would be interested in helping HOPE as a local coordinator for runners in Kilomathon Scotland in Edinburgh in October & (if they like it) next years marathon. It's not expected to be onerous - more about identifying opportunities to promote the charity places (there are a couple of enthusiastic people in the office who will help with remote support, materials etc), getting flyers displayed etc. Happy to answer any questions |

My favourite 10k - and now I've finally got my butt into gear & done some of that running stuff you hear people going on about on this forum I'm looking forward to it. I know it fills up well but I'll have to join on the day - anyone know how numbers are going so far |
