I am currently training for Brighton marathon, with my 14 mile run this week. I have been suffering with tight calves and also feeling like it takes me a good few days to recover from each long run so not achieving much of any value in between them. My pace for my 12 miles last week was 10:11 average which puts me inside 4:45 for the marathon. Any thoughts or experience on whether a sub 5 is do-able when my calves and energy levels are only really allowing me to focus on my long run......!??? I have run one marathon previously which was Dublin in 2008. My training pace was much slower than than it is now and I discovered I was pregnant the week before the race so ended up doing it very slowly to be safe finished in 5:28. Thank you!
Mr. Bump - you are very funny! Hope you're feeling better soon.
LB - Hope the new oven is everything you want it to be and more
Shades - Don't clean your oven, there is always something better to do!
Well, I went for a scan last night as blood results were not going up as the Drs wanted them too and wthey just wanted to be sure with my checkered history............. GOOD NEWS!!!! There is a little Shadie baby that is younger than predicted but all ok
It's my fault for doing one of those new fangled pregnancy tests that tells you you're pregnant before you've even conceived!! If I hadn't done it so early I could have run the marathon at race pace and been none the wiser! Oh well, looks like it's all worked out for the best ....................................nice relaxed marathon (PB !!) and a baby on the way.
Thanks for all your support, this place is wonderful. It is torrential rain here today but as soon as the weather bucks up - hopefully tomorrow, I will be taking my little bean for our first run since the marathon.
