The David Lewis Centre was one of the few specialist centres around the country, and believe me there are few, and one of the choices we had to send my daughter to (she has severe learning difficulties through epilepsy). A medal will only sit in a drawer in a few years, but your taking part will go towards changing someones life, I know which I feel more rewarding...
This was in my race plan as a training run towards my first HM in 4 weeks time.
Only prob there is that 2 weeks ago broke a toe, (kicked corner of the wall chasing son around house), pain at time was excrusiating, but has subsided since. Still painful at the start of a run, though by 4-5 miles I've got other things on my mind.
Really looked foreward to this one, but now unsure whether I will do more harm than good. Not much they can do with little toes, so just a case of suck it and see, and enjoy the countryside if I am reduced to walking..
Hope weather stays like this for tomorrow, ideal for it. Well is in Shrewsbury anyway!
That sounds an excellent run. Untill now I was feeling pleased with myself, for taking the oppotunity to get in my first long run of the year, in excelent conditions. I set myself an outward time limit of 50 mins (from home) and to get back faster. It was only designed to be a steady run, which it was, but I covered 12.5m in my 1.40hrs.
I should be pleasded on reflection, as that is probably about my target for a raced Hm.
Long may this weather last, as I was getting real down just getting out when I could really get motivated.
