After 7 years of applying I've finally gotten a place in the London marathon, I'm pretty fit and have no issues with my running programme itself. What I never know what to do is a programme for weights etc to supplement my running. I was deployed to the falklands for 6 months and did intense weight training looked trim but when I went to run I felt terrible. How can I get a good balance and is there a suggested plan to follow for in gym training. I have access to some amazing equipment so would be a shame not to use it. I'm aiming for a sub 4 hour marathon and have not struggled to do half marathons in under an hour and a half.
I unfortunately had to turn down my place through the charity as I am recently married, new home, 2 kids and in the military recently back from Afghanistan. Couldn't justify trying to raise ??2000 at this moment in time as I don't have the money to put it if I didn't make the target and it was a very short period to raise it.
