I have a 2 year old and 10 month old, running takes a back seat I'm afraid but I find as an early riser I can do a long run saturday morning and be back in time to not miss too much.

Then club night is allowable, anything other than those 2 runs is a bonus but as they get older it is easier, the first few months with both were a right off though.

I have showers at work now though so I can run 6 days a week (5 worl days plus once at the weekend) if I like, most of those being at lunch time. Before I had the showers available though it was pot luck. Depends on how understanding your wife is and how much you want to do.

some threads on this website are becoming very bizarre.

Anyway drink in moderation and gels about 20 minutes to kick in. Personally I cant chew when running so flap jacks arent an option.

lots of weirdos about at the mo on here!

I went to see a physio once, what a of waste time and money.

She prodded and poked and then told me to do some stretching and come back in a week.

What a job, I need to go and re-train, I presume they have some form of formal training though from my experience it will probably only take a morning! license to print money.

I have collapsed arches but that depends on who you ask though!

Physio says I have, or at least said I had last time I went.

Podiatrist agrees with physio and I have orthotics which I use for walking around.

Gentleman who fitted my most recent ski boots in Frnace disagrees, said it's b*ll*cks!

Gentleman who provided gait analysis says I do not need orthotics.

So, I do where orthotics for walking about in and have done for many years but I do not wear then for running or skiing. This leads me to believe my gait for walking is different to running.

I actually run in barefoot shoes and have had absolutely no ill effects, though it was a slow conversion from neutral shoes.

If you have been running for years and only just got injured, blaming it on your ankles would seem strange to me because it would have effected you long before this I would hvae thought

Don't know if this helps really but as someone else said it depends on who you ask and then you have to decide. I would seek out a sports physio, your general physio's are not always that helpful.

Alternatively, if you have a garmin, you can write next to each run which pair of shoes you wore and sort by that when analysing your runs on Garmin Connect.

Just a thought!
