10 miles along the usual canal route. Put on yaktrax for the first time and couldn't have been better!

I think there's a variation on the Glasgow tube crawl which is based on golf.

Good tune.

Had planned a 10 miler as working 12 hour shifts at weekend. Wimped out cos of the white stuff.

No expert here - more a do as I say rather than do as I do! Have a look at a chap called Tom Venuto and his book the Body Fat Solution. His book concentrates on diet, cardio and weight training (with the big emphasis on diet).

Best advice I read was in a Ranulf Fiennes book when he wrote "Just stand up". It works for me when sometimes you can get into a big long debate with yourself about the pros and cons of going out for a run. The physical act of just standing up breaks the mental thoughts and next thing you know kits on and you're out the door!
