Human race at wembley was a farce, crammed into the stadium in p rain for 2 hours beforehand to listen to the music, the tried to get out onto a dark course which effectively was around the stadium and did not finish inside...the bottleneck at the start...

Taught everyone a lesson that iconic venues are a good sales pitch but did not make for a good running experience..think nike were put off so much that they haven't directly organised a nike 10 k since...

...still £725 athletics seats left...not surprised!!! Opening/closing ceremony £1,000 pounds anyone.... only the rich and careless need apply...

It has been an odd process, but had it figured that only high price tickets from 150 plus would likely be available than cheaper seats...as not on hols in august I will justify it only that way...OH on the other hand will relegate me to a park bench when she sees the cost...

I got 2 athletics tickets in addition to diving, the trick seems to be is to log on before the sale goes "live" have the event and price highlighted and ready to go and once available hit the button asap...rather than go through the security code etc...

That took a few goes to get it right..it is frankly a ridiculous system..which allows you to only apply for one price group at a time....

For the record that was w metcalfe rather odd observation...not c metcalfe....

William, you can only run the course that is laid out by the bollards and deviation from that generally gets a dq...

I take it you were there to be able to present such an astute pov..? I also think the elite athletes were also silly enough not to ignore the stewards?

I assume everyone will throw rotten tomatoes at the 100s of runners remaining on the course after 6 hours at Sunday's London Marathon?  I think people get their own sense of achievement for completing any event, albeit even if their best shot is to walk/run...or erm walk.

..I would pull out rather than feel like I could do a race justice with having done less than what I demand of myself, but by no means will I criticise someone who wants to get by....if criterias like Boston were applied to most races then 75%+ of the forumites would not be discussing marathons at all.....until then we just have to accept that open to all-comers is just that.

But I will second that the purpose of these forums is to seek advice and support from people with more experience than our own....
