Hi Michael, its a long time since I posted above and I like to think that I've learned a lot since then.  The bacon rolls may be slightly stodgy to eat straight away, I'd try the banana and a drink in the first 20 minutes of returning just to see how that settles, and then  have something more after that.  I think you may need to look at your pre run fuelling too to see if you are having enough...

Evening all!

Sorry no posts for the last few weeks, but that was the last time I ran what with sick children, the school holidays and birthdays I have been baking my little socks off.

I did brave a couple of outings on my bike (however the usual chaos descended and I ended up sat in a grass verge ) swam a couple of times and things are definitely improving as I can breathe and swim both at the same time! Panic on now as wales mara is just over a week away and I'm so underprepared this time round...... I managed 7 miles this morning of which the first 3 miles were all uphill  but hooray, the next 4 miles were all downhill!

Hope everyone is well.

Fab running everyone, this talk of speedwork is making me feel quite tired!

Had road cycling lesson today and have been told I'm entitled to another two, that are free as well YAY.  I learnt a LOT both theory and practical, everything I knew about cycling on the road was thrown into turmoil as he contradicted a lot of it, with demonstrations why.  I would definitely recommend it.

Happy running all

Morning!

Whooo to the entry into your race Samantha, its panic and excitement all rolled into one, itl be here before you know it

Sorry to hear about your daughter AH hopes he's not too sore today, my daughter had stitches just under her eyebrow a couple of years ago (she got knocked down by some idiot on a bmx and her glasses did the damage).  Point is, the scar is barely visible now.  I'm with your wife, at the time we were in the town centre shopping and I was on my own with the 3 kids, despite being first aid trained etc I fell to pieces and one of my kids had never needed to go to hospital before.  It shakes you up no end,she has nothing to be embarrassed about, I was a gibbering wreck!

Swimming lessons sound good, hopefully no one except you will turn up next week and youl get one on one training!

Sal, duathlon sounds fun, I hope you have a fab time!

All this talk of intervals makes me think I should do them again and I'm a one speed wonder again, but UGH, really in this heat....

Toby, cars are essential in this day and age but expensive, hence one of the reasons Mr FE isnt too keen to pay for me to have driving lessons again..

Cycle lesson is now tomorrow morning which throws out my planned run (how I'l get round the mara is anyones guess) but doesn't give me enough time to panic.  Instructor seems really nice and funny, he'l need a sense of humour after 2 1/2 hours on the roads with me!

Hope you all have a fab day and that I've not missed anyone
