Hi to all-good to see a few of u guys doing the races over the grass.Great endurance training over the winter and very cheap(£4 at Lurgan last Sat.) Massive turnout of all standards. Hope to run a trail and a country race before the road racing starts up again.
No Pain-u put most runners to shame,doing 80 a week.Hard work brings reward.A rest day once a month? Ru in a club? Regularly ran around that myself but last century!!pps AW-Athletics Weekly a must read.
Hi all-happy new year to all u forumities.Been quite some time since i posted here.Rodney -hope u been to physio or at least been referred by your doctor. Still getting lazer treatment on my troublesome right achilles but able to get round in training/races.Hope to turnout at Lurgan in the Masters xc champs and might up the training for half marathon.ps a lot of flu/viruses around KB.
Thanks guys-enjoyed the shorter 3 lap race today. Felt good to cross the finish line having achieved my personal target at last Thanks again for all the best wishes and handshakes. Need to think about training for the London Marathon after a few days easy!! At the minute 10 miles is my longest run so need toget more time on feet over the next few weeks. Happy Christmas to all
Thanks C75, Maggs,HMM for support on Saturday-a real xcountry race.Enjoyed the route but found my spikes(12mm) too short!!Great atmosphere with all the childrens races first and the start of the new league.
Thanks for bringing the book along C75-but as i said on Saturday managed to get hold off another copy-well worth a read guys-From Last to First(Charlie Spedding-Olympic Bronze Medal Marathon 1984).Might turnout next Saturday in Ballyclare if i can get my spikes cleaned in time Doc3-toe nails or finger nails-ha ha!
Thanks C75-loking forward to the big race in Glasgow. Pity u didnt contest the trials. Managed to get up to 4th finisher in my age group and gain selection for 4 man team.Pleased with first xcountry in 18 months.
Good luck to all in Dublin and to all dog walkers ps with their running ability(sub 29min 10k) the Brownlees will pick up medals in London 2012.
