Hi everyone just wanted to pop in and 'show' my face - really really looking forward to Sunday. I'm also feeling really antsy - can't get over this not-having-to-run-very-far malarkey this week! Just the small matter of 26.2 miles to do on Sunday.....
Good idea about idenfiying ourselves to the supporters, I don't suppose I'm really going to be standing out in a running vest and shorts!!
Off to the expo tonight after work - sounds as if I'm going to have to keep my credit card under lock and key!
Hello all just wanted to pop in and say hi as I'm one of the runners allocated to group eight. At the moment I've only got my hubby and my mum coming down to cheer me on so its going to be great to have the support of the forumites. Great times by the way from everyone who did Reading. I did a slow plod around the lanes just outside Norwich - was a beautiful morning if a bit chilly.
Sooo pleased its less than two weeks now, the ol' legs are definitely starting to grumble now!
Hi all just came across this threat so thought I'd say hello as I'm hoping for a sub 4 mara as well this year. Did the speedwork session last night - not fun, very cold, got a stitch, but managed to soldier on although not convinced it did me any good.
SBF and Cubby - I'm doing the Wymondham 20 this weekend. Hoping to get in around the 3 hour mark if at all possible. Hoping it's not going to be as cold but I'm guessing that's wishful thinking!
Does anyone know the new route for this race? Did it when it was the Lowestoft Turkey Trot a couple of years ago and quite keen to do it this year - any ideas?
Hi all Great race, well organised - thank you to all the marshalls and race organisers doing a grand job standing around in the freezing cold. Did the race in just under 74 mins so very pleased. Surprisingly hilly, but then I never did believe that Suffolk was flat!
Not so pleased however to have written off our car on the way home after managing to spectacularly flip our car into a field at the side of the A1071 on the way back to Ipswich. Luckly both me and my husband were unhurt apart from a few bruises and a touch of whiplash - if any of the people who stopped to help us are reading this thank you so much for checking to see if we were ok - very very much appreciated. The car is a mess but thankfully we weren't, apart from being shocked and a bit dazed.
And there was me thinking I'd had enough excitement for one day managing to finish in under 1hr 20!
Well done everyone who took part - will be back next year (in a new car....)
