I am doing GNR for the first time this september and looking forward to it. Not bothered about the time, just looking forward to the atmosphere. Completed the Birmingham and Black Country Half marathon last weekend on my 45th Birthday and finished feeling strong so am now looking forward to the GNR.
I had back surgery 16 months ago and it knocked my running back a lot so its great to get out there again knowing i can do it!!
I'm looking forward to my second BBCHM on saturday, please folks remember a big smile and a thank you to the boaters who have given up their cruising time to man the "floating water points", well done to the Birmingham Canal Navigation Society!!!!
I got to say that coz I'm raising money for them on the run!!
Iron Dog, my mate will be coming up with me and while I run the race he is willing to help on the finishing line as he did last year, sorting out the water medals etc. His name is Alan Birchall.
I'm up for it again tis year.......running in memory of my mate HOVIS who rani it with me last year, got killed on a bike accident in oct 2009.......the bugger beat me in 2009. a great well organised race and worth the trip from wales to do.
