Hi, I did my 1st sprint duathlon this year. I was in a similar position of running half marathons & being able to cycle 30-40 miles. I didn't have the most specific training plan. I just continued my general cycling/running training but just added a few brick sessions to get used to the feeling of running straight from the bike. I just used google and picked a distance. Think it was 1m run/3m bike/1/3/1 Then about 3-4 weeks before I had a go at the race distance 5k/22k/5k |

Well, I'm making slow but steady progress. I've been in the pool twice a week for 3 weeks or so now. Started on very basic drills and now progressed to the sticking the head face down in the water drill. (Not the technical name I know) The drill is coming along now, compared to absolute blind panic which it was at first!! I'm feeling more comfortable whilst submerged and I do have the downhill feeling, so I must be doing something right. Trying to add a new drill into the mix every week. People are even asking me about why I'm doing drills and the benefits of it. Big mistake thinking I'm an expert |

Guide dogs still have 336 places. It says registration is closed but they have a number on the website. I've included it below. Doesn't mention min donation, but something is better than 336 x £0!! 0845 600 6787 |

| I'm up at 6 am and off to the pool. Beginners drills for me. I've been using the swimsmooth website as well. I find it really useful, esp with the graphics they have on how your body position should be. Now just to put it into practice. |

Hi and welcome. I'm starting from scratch at the minute. I'm just reading total immersion to grasp the theory, then practicing the drills in the pool. I'm just concentrating on these at the minute, the 'proper swimming' is what will come later. The other guys will be able to give you some good technical advice, I'll just offer support!! |
