I am a regular donor and don't usually run on the day following donation. I was rejected last time I went as being anemic although I felt fine and have not experienced a dip in performance. Coming out of the session without making a donation was the 'walk of shame', I felt very unwanted. However, I went out the next day and ran the fasted session on my training route to date! Anemic....bah! what do they know about it!!
Baz, I think you're on your own on this one. I would definatley be last and I think I would would feel very exposed in such a small field. It's probably still a bit early in my running career, (10months), to put myself through such pressure! I may go along to cheer people on - I'll look out for you, here's hoping for dry weather!
Oh God, 48 minutes sounds a fast compared to what I can muster. It hadn't occured to me that it might be mainly club runners - I don't even know what size field it's likely to be. I'll try & find a site for Heaton Harriers to see if there are ant more details available.
Anyone know anything about this event? I'm not sure whether to enter or not as I've only done 1 other 10K , the Manchester Corona 10k in the summer in 1hr 6mins. I've been training pretty consistantly but don't want to look like a complete slow coach on the day.
