Just entered my wife and I as part of our training for our charity run for the Brathay Trust in May. We are going to run from Fleetwood to Brathay over 2 days and then run the Brathay Windermere Marathon on the 3rd day.

Looking forward to this as we love running in the hills and it's another way to support  Brathay.

Check out our slightly crazy Just Giving page from the link below.

The stuff I read about the race said distances would be roughly right as is usual on off road races. Who cares, it is a great route and a well organised race for a good cause. Loved every minute of it and plan to return, which is praise indeed as I came from Lancashire to run it.

Coming down from Fleetwood to do the 50k. Is it advisable to do it in road or trail shoes?

Thanks for the info Richard, will take my own gels then as I don't like Kendal Mint Cake! Will probably stick with the ones I used last year for the Great Langdale marathon (Lucozade), they kept me going a treat.

Chis (not Chris ha). Charles on Sunday's of course, ha!

Does anyone know what gels will be available at water stations? Would like to give them a try in training first so I can decide if I need to bring my own or not.
