Hi I don't know where you are in Hampshire but I go to a club on a Monday and Wednesday evening in Basingstoke - you just turn up and pay £2 each time you run.

Mondays is specific training and Wednesday is split up into either 2, 4 or 6 mile runs whichever you feel you want to do. Have a look at www.220training.co.uk and that will give all the details.

Morning all

had a really bad couple of days as I'm not working at the moment (looking for a job and currently temping) Sainsburys beckoned as did lots of fat filled food.

Can't get motivated to do anything but then went out with a friend last night who I haven't seen for 10 years and felt awful cos I couldn't fit into my jeans properly.

Well done to everyone on this weeks achievements.

My Monday report - lost 1lb this week - so total of 6lbs over last 2 weeks. Not too disapointed with this as it was TOTM for me.

Last week managed to run twice - I go to a run 4 fun club and Monday is a drill training session - last week we did a track session and did a 8.54 mile which is my best and then Wednesdays is our long run. For me a long run is about 3 miles but am aiming for longer runs than this.

Tuesday did 900m swim but then couldn't face any more exercise.

Have spent the weekend decorating so have been relatively active.

I am currently eating 1250 cals a day which is sufficient for me to eat healthily and lose weight. Having lost weight a few years ago I worked out that to maintain my weight I need to eat about 1940 cals a day but I wasn't doing as much exercise as I am now.

Cath - it is definitely much better to lose weight slowly and therefore change your eating habits and keep the weight off.

bye for now

Hi - can I join 2 please.

I am 5ft 3 and 10.13 - would like to be 9.2

I started running 3 years ago by training for Basingstoke Race for Life in a bid to lose weight and raise money for such a good cause.

Unfortunately in the last 6 months I have put on a stone but that didn't stop me getting a pb in the Southampton Race for Life of 29.03 - very pleased with that.

I have now lost 5lbs in the last 2 weeks (so I started off at 11.4) and would like to lose at least a stone by the time I go on holiday in 8 weeks time.

My running goal is to attempt a 10k and get round but it seems as though they are all concentrated in Sept/Oct which is when my hols are so not enough time to train before and then holiday will interrupt training.

I run twice a week at the moment with a club and think I need to do more but my legs don't seem to like it.

I think it is a good idea for everyone to come here on Mondays to say what they have done.

Good luck everyone with your goals

Hi all

I am a recreational runner and 5k is my longest distance - just got a pb of 29.03 at the Southampton Race for Life

No good for Manchester but maybe of interest for Guildford or anyone else reading this.

I go to a 'Run 4 Fun' club in Basingstoke.

see www.220training.co.uk

cost £2 per session Monday night drills, Wednesday nights long runs - anything from 3.5 to 6.5 miles

Linda who takes the group is really good and is a duathlon champion
