Hi All, I was looking at this also, after having not a great race at Stratford. I'm currently looking at my options for later in the year and want to do a race late Sept/early Oct so I can have some downtime now. Does anyone know what the overall organization is like, you know drink stations, energy drinks etc? I do like the fact that it isn't laps! |

Having ran Wolvo in 2008, it is fair to say its not a scenic route by any stretch of the imagination and the start was a bit of mess (not completely the organizers fault I think because there was roadworks in the usual start bit), but I believe there is chip timing now. There wasn't much really to do at the end for people waiting either. On the plus point there was decent support on the first (half marathon) lap but not a great deal second lap (it was drizzling though) and the a decent number of drink stations. I don't want to be overly critical because the marshalls were great, giving up their time for us and it can't be an easy event to organize. Personally I'm going to run somewhere else before returning to Wolvo |

D2D I came in at 3:49 and was really struggling. All I could think of on the Greenway was an ice cold pint of lager. I was really disappointed as I've had two bad marathons in a row now ahh well back to the drawing board |

Just to add further to the picture of a hot and difficult day, was looking for sub3:15 and was on track at halfway. My other half said when I went past her I looked good and I was feeling okay. On the second lap I just overheated and couldn't cool down despite the kids with the hosepipe and pouring water over myself. Found the Greenway really really tough and had to run/walk home some half hour outside my expected time. Was feeling really rather depressed about this until I found that others also found it quite difficult. Thought it was a good friendly event though and pretty well organized. |

Hi All, I'm running this for the first time and was wondering what the start is like. Were there start pens or start areas last year, although I believe the start has changed since last year. What do the organizers normally do? |
