I am trying to find tracksuits for our small running club so that we all look uniform at events! Something simple in team colours (green!) with the team logo or name on. Can anyone recommend any companies please??
I have been plagued by pain in my left knee after running for about 2 miles, and no matter what I try I just can't seem to shift it.
To give you an idea of where I am fitness wise, I ran 4 marathons last year, so regular miles throughout the year with an average time of around 4 hours.
I initially got the pain back in November whilst out doing a speed session, I didn't twist it or cause any form of impact injury and it just started to hurt.
The pain is a sharp grinding sensation on the outside of my knee. I shrugged it off as a niggle to start, but it got worse. I took a lot of time out, saw a sports massager, who thought I had a tight ITB.
I have been getting pain in my back as well, which is fairly new!
I don't really know what to do at the moment, as I can still only run for about three miles before thinking I should stop!
I am 26 and am a regular runner. This year I was in training for the London Marathon following the Runners World sub 3:30 marathon schedule. This was all going really well until a half marathon. I ran it well, but the following week had a dull aching sensation in my left calf. I tried to rest it, but also continued with a lesser training regime. This caused pain in my right knee, probably because my gait wasn't natural.
I saw a sports masseur who said I had quite tight ITBS, and should rest. I spent 3 weeks in the run up to the marathon resting, icing etc, but after a test run went well, my right knee gave way when walking down stairs!
I rested some more, and withdrew from the marathon. Since then I started to feel a lot better with various stretching exercises, and last Monday competed in a supersprint distance triathlon. The swim and cycle was fine, but the 5k run was agony! But being the resilient and stubborn person I am, I finished the race.
The following day I could barely walk with pain in my left leg, but this time it was more of a sharp, intensive pain as opposed to the dull ache it was before. I went to A&E on advice from NHS direct who told me it is a sports injury, I should rest!
I have been resting for the last week, but have been in absolute agony, and dosed up on pain killers. I still have the pain, but have tried to cut back on the medicines. It seems that I have a single point just below my knee that is sore to touch, and the front of my shin seems to cause the most pain. And when I walk for more than a couple of minutes, the pain in my right knee appears again.
I tried to get to my GP this morning, but could not get an appointment, but hopefully will get there tomorrow, but have a horrible feeling that they will send me away saying rest rest rest!!
Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? I have been reading up on various different symptoms and injuries and am starting to wonder if it is a stress fracture?
Sorry it's a long one, perhaps a little venting of frustration on the keyboard to make me feel better!!!
