I'm glad I was not alone in entering the ballot last night. It still took about 15mins for the confirmation email to arrive.

Its a funny old game. Last Sunday I was happy not to even think about another marathon - any marathon- never,  again. Definately never, ever again. I'd finished but had not conquered. A week ago I was miserable and not happy feeling I had not done as well as I should have and felt I couldn't ever do  a marathon again.

By thursday I was in the perhaps I could cope with the distance again, some time in the distance. On Saturday I really would quite like another crack at London. Its such an iconic event and I really enjoyed the GNR so much more the second time I did it.

Last night I was all desperate for another fix and even had my iphone as well as PC refreshing the website.

Have not told my wife as she was not too keen ("You are NOT going to do THAT again are you" sort of not too keen) and not wanting to endure the "Wrath of Tracey" I will leave her in blissful ignorance of the ballot until I get my rejection through in September. If I do get an accepted magazine I'll just have to duck !!!!

Good luck to everyone. Its a slim chance but thats all part of the excitement.

I entered about 0:40 last night and email then took about 15 mins to get the email through. Now non nocturnal people are applying I guess there will be a rush and the network will be very busy.

If anyone thinks there is a problem my confirmation email shows the  VLM office number as

0207 902 0200

Good luck to all

Just came on to say its open but you already know that of course!

Surrey Runner. I think you might be right but I dont know if there is a separate route in to claim GFA since I am SFA (Slow For Age). I'd check theVLM web site pretty quick so if you do go through the ballet route you dont miss out if it is as popular as usual.

 Good Luck to all applying

Just read the thread. I am now living in Norfolk but spent the first 30 odd years of my life in the Kingswood estate just over the road from Woodside. I was getting all excited trying to find a way to get down to the track to support.

Really sorry it is not going ahead. All the best

Hi,

Just dipping in  to see what kind of results thebig G's gave. I was using Runkeeper.com app on my iPhone and I am relieved I only did it for the memory and not for a serious training aid. It shows over 29 miles!
