Anyone know if the Oly has an English website?  Can only find a German version...

Mrs Mandel has just said she'll think about Zurich and the possibility of finding her a shorter race to do may help things out!

Thanks all for the congrats.

Henny and Martin - no unfortunately not doing Outlaw.  I missed the entry cutoff and although I then got offered a place by the organisers through the waiting list, I had already signed up to do the round the island sailing race on the same weekend.  So no going long this year but am hoping to be back next year (with some muppet mates who are keen but at the moment can't swim front crawl).

Alcatraz is what I'm turning my attention to now.  Have neglected the swimming a bit the last few weeks though so need to get back on it.  Plus haven't got on a bike since IM Regensburg last year...

Morning all - congratulations to everyone.  Looks like some good times run on Sunday.

I was hoping for another sub-4 following my exploits at Brighton last week but it just wasn't to be in the end.

Went through halfway in 1.55 so looking ok but I really felt last week in the legs from about mile 14 onwards.  With 10 miles to go I worked out I needed to stay at 9:40 pace to break 4 hours and was already slipping to around 9.30 so would be tough. I dug in until mile 24 and was still just about on the pace but I had given it everything and had to move to run/walk ultimately.

Ended up with 4.04 (although by the Garmin I actually went through the marathon point at 3:58!!!) but happy with that given brighton was 3.53 only 7 days earlier.  Plus I beat the goal of going sub-8 for the two combined!

Unfortunately I saw the poor girl getting CPR at the last corner - really sad.  Not sure if it was an underlying condiditon but I assume so given she was clearly a half-decent runner to be there in that time.  Couldn't believe how many casualties there were at the roadside - the second half was a lot hotter than people think and the sun was glaring the entire time.

Sorry all for the repeated pace - stupid iPhone...

Wily yes I was just after them - never passed them but kept seeing them at the turn arounds. How did u get on - I couldn't see your post? Not sure what is up with Brighton website as it's not showing my chip time yet so not sure if it registered at the start - only showing my final clock time. Apparently quite a lot of others have had chip issues too. At least I've got the garmin time though.
