My Deepest condolences are with you Tim and the rest of yoru family - such a sad story. I hope it has been a comfort for you to be able to complete the race for your brother and i am sure he would be very proud of you for doing that. I did pass him on the bridge but i was probably about ten minutes behind him and he was already recieving treatment as i passed - sorry i cannot tell you more.
Ashley - go for isle of axholme half. Its very flat and a gauranteed PB.
Sarah, you said that you expect many calories have been burned but if you run 13.1 miles with a certain amount of meters climbed you will burn the same number of calories whatever the weather.
Hopes and thoughts definately with all concerned - no one goes out racing for that. I think the ambulances where not helped by the fact that there was seemingly a road traffic accident on the road approaching the bridge which seemed to hold everyone up.
Sadness and tragedy aside i enjoyed the race again and it seemed to me that the hill at (allegedly) 9 miles did not seem as savage as last time. The mile markers are defnately out though.
