Thanks for this thread btw! I am also thinking of Ironman in 2013.  In fact I'm almost certain I want to do one and I think I'm in the same boat as you Double T!

I'd worry about getting to Austria though with all my kit

When do all of these entries open?

Morning,

Glad the wind has died down. I'm currently organising my races for 2012 - I live in Edinburgh and am keen to try smaller and more interesting races - like the Carnethy 5 I already posted about. Anyone got any suggestions or favourites?

Ran in the Borders on Monday into England at Berwick and followed the coastal path between the cliffs and the East Coast Main line.. can recommend there for a great scenic run!

Has anyone done the Carnethy Five Race?

I've ran in the Pentlands several times but haven't done any events in hill racing (except the seven hills of edinburgh).

Do you think I should try it if I'm a novice? Is it just for professionals?

I've had tonsillitis since Sunday so have been unable to do anything. However the penicillin has worked and feeling much better. Got Dublin a week Monday so might try a 10miler this weekend although having done nothing all week I'm not sure that is the best plan.

Hope you all have a good weekend!
