great weeked at the long course, well done battie on that time with a puncture ( I would still be there now trying to change it!....need to practice that). The swim was much faster than my normal time and I came in with 1 hour 12, think the currents were definitely with us, the bike was tough but managed 7.44 and then did 3.57 on the marathon so over all pleased with results and more confident now about ironman. hope everyone else enjoyed
Andras... go for it, i'm in the same boat as you although living locally will give me the advantage of being able to train the hills. If any of you guys come down at all to go over some of the course, give me a shout, I would love the company. As gears go looking at the previous chats im getting a new bike for Christmas...whoo hoo, with 11-32t on a compact 50-34, all I need now is a small engine and i'll be away!!
hiya guys, I work in an insurance office and would just advise you to check that your household insurance policy will cover the bike whilst being used in a race.....most don't!. they will cover it whilst being used outside of a race or for theft, accidental damage etc if specified on the policy but NOT whilst being used racing....just check with your company to ensure you have got the correct cover!
Well done Bumble bee. Sounds like you're training well. I am currently running 3 times a week, cycling 3 times and swimming once. my running is priority at the moment as I will soon be in training for the London Marathon but I am spinning once a week, cycling to work once a week and doing a longer ride on the weekend from anywhere from 25 to 45 miles. enjoying it all at the moment (don't know how long that will last tho!!)
